Interventional Radiologist

Dr. Middlebrook is board certified in both diagnostic and interventional radiology. He initially worked in academia as an assistant professor of radiology and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Texas Medical School, Houston. With a dozen peer-reviewed publications he is well versed in all aspects of Interventional Radiology but has particular interests in liver disease and the complications of cirrhosis and their interventional management. A major branch of this field of interest is the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic malignancies both primary and secondary.

His expertise in interventional oncology began during his residency with training at M.D. Andersen Hospital and fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the principal-investigator and authorized user for the Therasphere treatment center in South Texas, an authorized user for SirTex and expert in the techniques of precision transarterial chemoembolization and radio-frequency ablation of liver tumors.
